Spectacular racing in the BMW M2 Cup

Leyton Fourie is the big winner of the race weekend at the Lausitzring. In tropical conditions, the South African won both races of the weekend and this also leads the BMW M2 Cup. The races on Saturday and Sunday were particularly exciting and the drivers (almost) gave each other nothing. Furie won on Saturday, but what happened behind him, showed what makes BMW M2 racing so spectacular. The information and advice from the various coaches was very consistently applied, resulting in a close race. Behind Fourie, a battle broke out in which it was unclear for a long time who would finish in which position. On Sunday it became even more exciting when the eventual winner (Fourie) was unable to pull away from his closest opponents Colin Bönighausen and Jan Matyas. Close racing, mirror to mirror, bumper to bumper for half an hour. Exhausted by the concentration, the physical exertion and the extreme heat inside and outside the car, the drivers visibly had to regain their strength after crossing the finish line.

Leyton Fourie now leads the overall standings with 125 points. Australian Bart Horsten is second with 116 points and German Max Rosam follows in third place with 103.5 points.
